So called New Mumbai Locals

I still remember the experience of travelling in the new mumbai locals about a year back or so. The excitement of travelling in a local which was not rusted and oil painted (brown & yellow)..err...i mean re painted..or re re re painted (with cobwebs & dirt). At that time i pessimistically told my friend that looks like this local will age faster than the old ones.

It pains that my pessimism about Mumbai was once again correct. Th so called new rakes have indeed aged many times faster. To me it looks at least few decades old. The pan spittoons, the many layers of stickers (gopi health clinic, shah piles clinic, baba adil shah, baba bangali, pass 10th 12th directly, work from home etc etc etc...) . As it was getting more and more painful for me to bear at last it I decided to write to western railway GM & AGM.

I wrote to GM, AGM and Western Railway PRO about the poor conditions of local and asked them to take a lesson in rakes management from Delhi Metro. But as expected, no revert.

This is the price we all pay when there is no accountability nor any performance audit in government sector, they continue to rot and we continue to suffer.

Tuesdays with Morrie

Just finished reading 'Tuesdays with Morrie', this was the book which i was frantically trying to get my hands on since the past one year ever since i read about it in Robin Sharma's Megaliving.

Found many parallel between the book and the one penned down by Robin Sharma himself.

Started reading the book just last week and finished the book this Saturday in bus on my return journey from Pune to Mumbai. Though the outline of the story was well know to me from the beginning, but the end of the book surprised me when it left my eyes moist ( i made good to go to sleep in the bus to avoid many peeping Toms though).

Again it forced me to rethink th way we all live our life - direction less, without knowing how to take pleasures of life in many little little things, as we are so engrossed in achieving and waiting for the real big moments that we forget that life is a journey and not an destination.

Hope to make some changes and make my life more meaningful for me and for my near and dear ones :).

as of now....time to get hold of another book...this time its The Saint, The Surfer & The CEO..
